They say a picture is worth a thousand words, right?   As host of our city's longest-running urban open mic (Still Waters Open Mic Poetry @ Mecca), I say that a thousand words is also a respectable poetry tithe. So, every week, I display a new photograph to inspire a few new poetic scribbles and welcome the audience to share whatever they come up with. Stirs the muse, opens the poetry valves, warms the mic.  Sets the night up just right. So, I figure we could continue the ritual here, if that's okay.  I'll do my best to update the photo every month, you just make sure that you write something.  Doesn't have to be the entire 1000 words, just use what you need.
